Protecting your data is important to me. Below I inform you about the processing of personal data when visiting this blog in accordance with the GDPR.

2. Hosting & server log files

This blog is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When accessed, technically necessary access data (including a shortened IP address, timestamp, page accessed, browser) is processed in server log files – for secure provision (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with Vercel; the US transfer is based on the EU standard contractual clauses.

3. Affiliate/recommendation links

This blog uses affiliate links (including Booking.com, Amazon, GetYourGuide). If you click such a link, the respective provider may set cookies or attribute your request to a booking. This only happens when you click through to the external provider and is subject to their privacy terms. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in financing the offer (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

4. Analytics with Matomo (cookieless)

For statistical analysis of usage I use Matomo, a self-hosted open-source analytics tool. Matomo is configured cookieless and does not store any cookies on your device. The IP address is processed in shortened (anonymised) form, no data is transferred to third parties, and all data remains on a server in the EU. No personal reference is established. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in privacy-friendly analytics (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). As no cookies are set and measurement is anonymous, no consent is required. Matomo respects your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (competent: the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Baden-Württemberg).
